After months of prep, it’s finally come down to this! Seven pieces of check-in luggage, five pieces of carry on, 100kgs of gear and camera equipment. We set off on our epic journey from Singapore on Sunday night. First stop: 7+ hour flight to Dubai.

The customary pre-expedition + gear photo.
At the Changi Terminal 1’s departure gates: This flag is traveling with us from Asia to Antarctica.
This flag too! Can’t wait to see it being unfurled on the Antarctica Circle.
Thanks, Shahul from Channel NewsAsia, who patiently worked with us on all the kit needed for this expedition and who met us at the airport hours before to make sure everything was packed.
Landed in Dubai, thank you Emirates for taking care of us! Two hour transit here, then a long 19-hour journey from Dubai to Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires.
Bye, Dubai.
Stunning aerial views of Rio de Janeiro as we were coming in to land after a 14+ hour flight.
Leaving Rio for Buenos Aires.
After a nearly 3 hour flight, coming into Argentina.
Buenos Aires at sunset.

And now, we’ve travelled an hour to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery with a 7 hour wait to get on a 4am flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia.

Thank goodness for Wifi.
